OUR HISTORY

In the beginning of the 20th century, grandfather Alfredo 1° bought a farme house with stables and he transformed it in a restaurant with some guest rooms to rent.  At that time tourism in Val di Sole was non-existent. So the restaurant was bended to the business men in transition.

So in the beginning ,the restaurant was primarily target at the businessman in transit 
The restaurant businness was not enogh to cover the family needs, and therefore granddad Alfredo 1° decided to keep  horses, cows and pigs on the side.

When  granddad Alfredo passt away in 1951 his wife Caterina continued the business which was not easy bringing up four children ( bruno, Rita, Anita e Adriana)

In the sixties summer tourism started to develope and some of the customers from the north of Italy starded to visit the mountains for excursions and to meet up with friends and family ( they tent to return year after year), to play  games, listen to the music in the piano bar or a pic-nic.

As tourism developed , grandmum Caterina decided to repel all farmering activities

 In the same period Bruno, her first son, started helping out running the business, and thanks to the increase of the tourism they started to extend and impove the structure.

In 1965 Bruno married Gina who worked side by side with her husband in the hotel, helping out in the kitchen and managing the housekeeping. Gina gave birth to three children: Erica, Roberta and Alfredo 2°.

 In the beggining of the seventies Bruno's sisters all got married and Bruno took over the business.At that time the first Marilleva ski station opened and was the start of winter tourism
The Ravelli family decided to focus solely on the tourism business and therefor repelled all other activities.

Thank to the business develope, Bruno and Gina, always with grandmum Caterina's help, kept investing their money for the hotel's improvements.

 Bruno and Gina always with grandmum Caterina's help keept investing their money in their hotel's improvement. In 1991 they bought the second hotel for their son Alfredo 2° who, after several works in Italy and abroad, ws now ready to start running his own hotel

In 1996 Alfredo 2° married Cinzia who decided to help out her in managin the administration. In the same year they started an important extension of the Hotel Ravelli which, in July 1997 was renamed Hotel Palace Ravelli****.

 In September 1997 Alessio Ravelli was born (fourth generation??). Unfortunately to the good news follows a big loss... Bruno died after a short illness. He didn't even manage to see the results of his hard work.

Then Alfredo 2° took over  the Palace Hotel Ravelli and his wife Cinzia kept looking after the Sporting Hotel. Alfredo's sisters got married and Alfredo and Cinzia kept on going with the Hotel businness , always with the support of mother Gina and grandmother Caterina.

FOR THE RAVELLI FAMILY THE HOTEL IS NOT JUST A JOB BUT, IT'S THEIT PASSION!!!!
